Tails Up Flies

  1. Ocean Runner :   Used on Tarpon of all sizes tied on Varivas Hooks from size 1/0 to 3/0. One of my favorite Tarpon flies.
  2. Buchanan Bank Special:    Has been a great fly all over the Keys but especially on the Famous Buchanan Bank. Tied on Varivas Hooks from size 1/0 to 3/0. A real favorite
  3. Everything Tarpon:    Used on Tarpon it is similar to looking like a large shrimp in the water and is named after my Everything Fly. It has pulled several large Tarpon out of there group to charge it. Tied on Varivas Hooks 1/0 to 3/0. Great Fly.
  4. Len's Black Dredge:    A favorite of guides for fishing for tarpon in deep waters around bridges and cuts when the waters are cloudy. Tied on Varivas Hooks 1/0 to 3/0.
  5. Red Death: A long time favorite a Red Collar and Grizzly Hackle on the sides and Pearl crystal flash in center. Great on large or small tarpon. Tied on Varivas Hooks 1/0 to 3/0
  6. False Pilchard:    This fly really attracts fish and has caught several Pompano and a few Bonefish but mostly catches Sea Trout but has worked also on Snook and Redfish. Tied on a long shank hook with weed guards.
  7. Spoon Fly:   These flies come in several colors of hackle tails, Red, Blue, Green and Orange. They have caught several Snook and Red Fish but have also caught several of our Peacock Flounder in the Florida Bay. Tied on a long shank hook turned up ride nice in the water with small dumb bell weights on the rear.
  8. Needle Fish Fly:   Great on Barracuda, strip fast and they will come a running, Tied in a very small version they have caught bonefish. This fly is tied on a long shank hook #2 to 1/0
  9. Baby Bill:    Is a great fly for the Off shore fly fisherman that wants the challenge of Marlin or Sailfish has been very effective on Atlantic Sails. Tied on a 5/0 or 6/0 hook and can be tied with random hook.
  10. Lenny's Blenny:    Is one of my first flies I created for saltwater and is use mostly on Bonefish. It represents the Blenny bait fish that swims around coral rock bottoms and sponges on grassy bottoms. I like to cast close or a few feet from the bonefish and let it flutter down, it lands softly but will sink slowly. Tied on a #4 hook with a weed guard.
  11. Everything Fly:    A real favorite because it has caught every species of fish in the Florida Keys Backcountry. Yes on just the one pattern. It has been written up in Fly Tyer Magazine and is easy to cast and looks very close to a live shrimp. Tied on a long shank hook #4 to #1. One of my Favorite all time flies.
  12. Wooly Crab:   This crab pattern is tied of just Tan Antron wool and has been dipped in a solution to keep it stiff so when stripped will ride smoothly. A favorite with the guides of the Keys for Bonefish and Permit and Redfish. Tied on a #4 to #2 hook with weed guards.
